Descripton:
This is the 1847, 2nd edition ornamental broadside map of the United States & Mexico published by Phelps during the Mexican War. Phelps first issued the map in 1846, and the map was subsequently re-issued after Phelp’s 1847 edition by Ensign & Thayer through 1851. The 2nd edition adding statistical tables in the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, which do not appear on the 1st edition.
